Polyphthalamide nylon ties have stable effects on alkalis and most salts. Only a few salts can etch them. Some salts, such as KSCN solution, can dissolve them. Oxidants, acids, especially strong acids, have corrosive effects on polyphthalamine. The higher the distribution density of acid amine group in polyamine, the worse the acid resistance. The destructive effect of acids is to cause chain breakage (degradation).
Polyphthalamide nylon ties have good solvent resistance and are stable for general hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, unitary hydrocarbons, aromatics, etc., especially for gasoline, kerosene, lubricating oil, etc. Only a few solvents that are close to the solubility parameters of phthalamine and can form an ammonia bond with them can dissolve them, such as formic acid, glacial acetic acid, phenol, cresol, etc. Alcohols and water can make the phthalamine swell. Other properties In the indoor room temperature environment, the performance of the phthalamine is stable and can be maintained for a long time. However, if exposed to the outdoor atmospheric environment, the performance will gradually decline significantly, especially when the temperature exceeds 60 'C, the performance decline is particularly obvious, the main changes are darkening, embrittlement, and mechanical properties decline. Exposed in the outdoor environment of 100 ℃, the service life is only 4-6 weeks. Carbon black is an effective antioxidant of phthalamine.
In addition, the Australian salt, iodized salt and phosphite of alkali metal can be used as antioxidants for the polyamide nylon ties. The oxygen index of different polyphthalamine is about 26-30, which can burn under the action of fire source, but most of the polyphthalamine has self-extinguishing property, and the flame propagation speed is very slow even if it burns.
